The Volleyball School / VVH
Are you enthusiastic about sport? Do you like to try out new sports? Then maybe we can make you a new and interesting offer with the volleyball game.
Volleyball has been part of our school for more than 50 years. Because today’s VVH (Volleyball Club Humann / link to the homepage of the VVH) has not only emerged from the school sports of the CHG, is still an important part of our school life today.
In the category “Volleyball in the youth sector” the VVH is one of the most successful clubs in Germany. And the men’s A- team, which is largely made up of former students of our school, has been playing in the second Bundesliga for years.
Every year members of our school volleyball club join the League Teams of VVH. So you may met a lot of players from different grades at our school.
In this context, the association’s annual Whitsun camp in Rödinghausen is a real highlight. Here, well over a hundred students from our school go on tour together and enjoy community and team spirit.
This interplay of club and school sports also results in strong school teams, which successfully take part annually in school competitions in indoor and beach volleyball ,and thus regularly qualify for the final “Youth Training for the Olympics” in Berlin. In addition to consistently good medal rankings, the champion trophy was brought to the CHG in 2016 and 2023.
Due to the long-standing and successful cooperation between the school and the VVH, we were awarded the “Partner School of Volleyball” award by the Western German Volleyball Association in 2017, of which we are justifiably proud.
