MINT
Are you very interested in topics and questions that concern Mathematics, Information technology, Natural sciences or Technology? Then the teaching model of the MINT class is just right for you! Due to numerous additional offers in the field of natural sciences, our school already received the award “MINT-friendly school” in 2014.This award was an incentive for us to expand our learning offer in this area. Since the school year 2015/2016, we have been able to offer the MINT profile as a profile class from grade five onwards.
The primary goal of the MINT class is to further promote your scientific interest. This is achieved, among other things, with an increased number of hours in the natural sciences.
In grade five, you will primarily deal with the topic of “robotics”. Here you have the opportunity to experiment with Mindstorm robots from Lego.
In grades six and seven, additional interesting and topical lessons are given in the natural sciences.
In biology, for example, you will deal with the area of “locomotion”. In chemistry, you will deal with the food industry and cosmetics. In physics, you will investigate energy transfer chains and in mathematics you will puzzle and develop strategy games.
From grade 8 onwards, you can then choose different electives. Here we have been offering the popular computer science and natural science courses for many years.
Your MINT career will then be completed by a wide range of basic and advanced courses in the upper grades. In this context, we can offer you an advanced computer science course.
