The nine-year Gymnasium comprises grades 5 to 10 in the lower secondary level (trial and intermediate level) and the upper secondary level (Gymnasiale Oberstufe) in the upper secondary level.<\/p>

The trial level takes place at our branch, Jacob-Weber-Stra\u00dfe. It comprises years 5 and 6, where pupils have a school building just for themselves after elementary school. At the end of year 6, it is decided whether the children can remain at the grammar school. This is the case for the vast majority of children. In a few cases, we advise parents to change the type of school in the interests of the child.<\/p>

With the change to the main building on Laurentiusweg, the middle school begins in Year 7. Pupils must then also choose their second foreign language. They can choose between Latin and French.<\/p>

There is another choice in year 9. In compulsory elective area II, pupils can choose between computer science, Spanish, natural sciences or English bilingual. Class tests are also written in this elective subject. The intermediate level ends at the end of year 10 with the intermediate school leaving certificate.<\/p>

After this, students move on to the upper school. The upper school consists of the introductory phase and the qualification phase I and II. It therefore consists of three school years. While students are still practising their work in the introductory phase, they start collecting points for the Abitur in the qualification phase. Students choose two advanced courses and at least seven foundation courses. In the upper school, a lot of emphasis is placed on independent work.<\/p>

Within the qualification phase, the school part of the advanced technical college entrance qualification can be achieved or the school career ends with the Abitur at the end of qualification phase II.<\/p>
